What is your favorite animal? Is that animal represented in books and films?

In honor of my newest short story release, and the obvious presence of a tiger on the cover, I figured I would ask the question, what is your favorite animal? Mine just so happens to be the Siberian Tiger. The largest and most powerful of all the subspecies of tigers. Not only are these animals fierce and cunning hunters, but they're also downright gorgeous. With their breathtaking stripes and color, it's no question why these animals have been sought after by people both in beneficial and selfish ways.

I'm not sure exactly what drew me to the tiger as my favorite animal, but I remember gawking at pictures of these big cats ever since I was a youngster. As a kid I read articles and watched documentaries about these majestic creatures. What astounding beasts! Top tier solo predators who can jump nearly 25ft lengths, weight anywhere between 400-900lbs and can get up to 12FT long. Then you add on their speed and agility. This is one lethal beast.

The tiger's dominant presence has made many debuts in films and books over the years. Not nearly as many as other wild animals, such as lions, bears, and wolves, but each time they are represented it stands out. The one tiger that stands out for me is Shere Kahn in The Jungle Book. Shere Kahn is the main antagonist, and rightly so. Who would want to go up against something do wildly ferocious as a male tiger. If you read up on just how big cats take down their prey, you'd be terrified too.

Another instance of tigers making an appearance I've loved is the beloved kids character Tigger from Winnie the Pooh. I usually forget this loveable bouncy fella for reasons I'm sure you all can understand. I mean, the plush guy doesn't have a mean stitch in his body and has a speech impediment. Nothing terribly intimidating about that.
